Aloha Dear Friend,

In this year of giving, we ask that you consider giving a gift that will make a difference to those who have been touched by cancer.  We ask you to consider a tax-deductible donation to Kokolulu Cancer Retreats Program. 

Our goal for 2008 is to raise $250,000 to be used to sponsor people with cancer to attend one of KoKoLuLu’s cancer retreat programs and for program development. Our programs, based on a sanctuary/retreat model of wellness, are individualized to meet the client’s unique needs.  We include many activities that have been scientifically documented as important to sustaining healing.  Emphasis is placed on providing information that can be self-help or "take home”.

A cancer diagnosis means coping with the intense impact of the stigma of cancer along with debilitating medical treatments, leaving a person and often a family weakened physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  At the same time, there are so many decisions and life-style changes to consider.  Our participants come from all over the USA and Canada and many have told us that the safe and loving environment at Kokolulu along with the local Hawaiian location, climate and healing culture helped strengthen their immune systems and gave them effective tools and a renewed sense of enthusiasm and purpose for continuing their healing journey.
 
A recent guest said, “I came here with a serious diagnosis and found a caring, safe place to completely relax.  I leave still with a diagnosis.  What became clear is that it is JUST a diagnosis and what I experienced here keeps the diagnosis from becoming a disease that runs my life.”
